5 dead, 36 injured in attack with explosives in Colombia
Five people were killed and 36 others injured in an attack with explosives near the Marco Fidel Suarez Air Base in the Colombian city of Cali on Thursday, said the mayor's office.
The "terrorist attack" carried out with a bomb occurred around 2:50 p.m. local time, according to the Colombian Aerospace Force, which reiterated its commitment to the safety of Colombians.
Palestinian camps in Lebanon begin handing over weapons to army
Lebanon on Thursday started transferring weapons from Palestinian camps in the country to the Lebanese army, at the Burj Barajneh camp in Beirut, according to Ramez Dimechkie, head of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee.
In a statement released by Elnashra news website, Dimechkie said, "Today marks the first step in handing over weapons, which will be placed under the custody of the Lebanese army." He added that additional batches would be collected in the coming weeks from Burj Barajneh and other camps.
Netanyahu says Israel to begin Gaza truce talks, approve Gaza City attack plan
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said he had instructed officials to begin "immediate negotiations" for the release of hostages in Gaza and an end to the war, while also vowing to approve military plans to seize Gaza City.
"I came to approve the IDF's (Israel Defense Forces) plans to take control of Gaza City and to defeat Hamas," Netanyahu said during a visit to a military base near the Palestinian enclave.
"At the same time, I instructed to begin immediate negotiations for the release of all our hostages and an end to the war on terms acceptable to Israel," he said.
U.S. court throws out 500 mln USD penalty against Trump
A New York appeals court on Thursday threw out a more than 500 million U.S. dollar penalty plus interest against U.S. President Donald Trump in a civil fraud case.
In the 323-page ruling by a five-judge panel, the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court upheld the verdict, saying that the size of the fine was "excessive" and that it "violates the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution."
