ABU DHABI, 30th May, 2025 (WAM) -- Dawood Al-Jarrah, Director of the Air Navigation Department at Kuwait International Airport, underscored the importance of the 39th Cospas-Sarsat Joint Committee Meeting, hosted by the UAE.
The meeting brings together 45 countries and international organisations specialising in satellite-aided search and rescue, with the aim of enhancing and developing systems related to search and rescue operations to ensure the swift and efficient saving of lives.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al-Jarrah affirmed that Kuwait and the UAE are committed to building strategic partnerships and sharing expertise to support life-saving efforts and improve emergency response readiness in line with the highest global standards.
He noted that the meeting, organised by the National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, reflects the UAE's advancement in strengthening the global search and rescue system.
"We aim through this meeting to bolster international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge, while showcasing the latest technologies and experiences in this vital field," he added.
Al-Jarrah further stated that the gathering offers a platform to review the programme's progress and enrich its operations through collaborative engagement. He expressed appreciation to the UAE for its warm hospitality and the excellent organisation of the meeting.
