ABU DHABI, 27th April, 2025 (WAM) -- Fujairah Martial Arts Club claimed victory at the 8th Judo Japanese Ambassador's Cup for Juniors and Cadets, organised by the UAE Judo Federation at its hall in Baniyas.
The championship, held for both male and female athletes, was organised by the UAE Judo Federation in collaboration with the Japanese Embassy in the UAE and INPEX Corporation Abu Dhabi. A total of 180 judokas participated in the event.
The Fujairah Martial Arts Club team secured the overall title, securing ten medals - two gold, three silver, and five bronze. The Sharjah Club team placed second with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze medals, while the Sharjah Self-Defense Club team finished third with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Kalba Club secured fourth place.
The Fujairah Martial Arts Club team secured the overall title, earning a total of 10 medals - 2 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. The Sharjah Club team finished in second place with two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals, followed by the Sharjah Self-Defence Club team in third place with two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
At the closing ceremony, Ken Okaniwa, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE; Hiroshi Hagiwara, President Director of INPEX Corporation in Abu Dhabi; Nasser Al Badour, Vice President of the UAE Judo Federation; Mohammed Jassim, Assistant Secretary General of the Federation; and Ali Al Yamahi, Board Member, presented the winners with their awards.
Ambassador Okaniwa congratulated the victors, praising their embodiment of judo's core values of respect and discipline, and thanked the UAE Judo Federation for its support of the sport.
