DHAKA, April 27 (Xinhua) -- The two-day "Meet Bangladesh Exposition" concluded on Friday with strong interest from international buyers, as several participating manufacturers secured orders during the event, highlighting growing global demand for Bangladeshi products.
The exposition spotlighted key potential export sectors of Bangladesh, including medical and personal protective equipment, leather and leather goods, footwear, plastics, and light engineering.
Held in Dhaka, the event was part of the Export Competitiveness for Jobs project, jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank, aiming to enhance Bangladesh's position as a preferred global sourcing destination.
According to the organizers, various seminars held throughout the event offered participating manufacturers valuable insights into their respective sectors, export procedures, and international market demands, ultimately strengthening their global competitiveness.
The exposition brought together over 100 local exhibitors and welcomed around 25 foreign buyers from countries including Singapore, Libya, Colombia, Algeria, the UAE and others.
Additionally, over 1,000 local buyers attended, creating a dynamic platform for Bangladeshi producers to directly engage with global buyers, investors, and industry leaders.
