'Sama Al Gharbia' wins 10th Purebred Arabian Horse Race in Al Dhafra

AL DHAFRA, 24th April, 2025 (WAM) -- Liwa Sports Club concluded the 10th edition of the Purebred Arabian Horse Race at the Zayed City Racecourse in the Al Dhafra region, amidst strong participation and notable turnout from horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts.

The horse Sama Al Gharbia, owned by Hamdan Suhail Al Mazrouei, claimed first place in the first round over a distance of 1,700 metres. Haizoom, owned by Saif Mohammed Fan Al Muhairbi, came in second, while Al Habib, owned by Ali Suhail Salmeen Al Mazrouei, took third place.

In the second round, Hamdan Suhail Al Mazrouei continued his impressive performance, as his horse Sabr Al Gharbia secured first place, followed by Al Areeq owned by Saif Asheer Al Mazrouei in second, and FKayed, owned by Hamad Ali Al Marar, in third.

Mohammed Sultan Al Mazrouei, Director of Finance and Administrative Affairs at Liwa Sports Club, honoured the winners. He praised the high level of competition and reaffirmed the club's commitment to supporting purebred Arabian horse racing.

"At Liwa Sports Club, we take pride in preserving the legacy of our forefathers through this noble sport. These races provide a traditional platform that unites horse owners and riders in competitive events that elevate the status of Arabian horses and showcase the talents of our nation's youth," he said.
