Xi says China to work with Malaysia towards new "Golden 50 Years" for bilateral ties
Chinese President Xi Jinping said Wednesday that China is ready to work with the Malaysian side to build a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, so as to usher in new "Golden 50 Years" for bilateral ties.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar during a state visit to the country. Prior to their meeting, Sultan Ibrahim held a grand welcome ceremony for Xi.

Xi made the remarks during his meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The United States has carried out extensive airstrikes against Houthi targets across Yemen on Wednesday.
U.S. aircraft reportedly struck more than 50 Houthi sites across multiple provinces in the north, center and west of Yemen, according to reports by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.
UNCTAD forecasts global growth to slow to 2.3 pct in 2025
The world economy is on a recessionary trajectory, with global growth expected to slow to 2.3 percent in 2025 due to rising trade tensions and uncertainty, the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said in a report released on Wednesday.
In its Trade and Development Foresights 2025 report, UNCTAD said that rising trade tensions are impacting global trade, adding that trade policy uncertainty is at a historical high, leading to delayed investment decisions and reduced hiring.
Israel's Wednesday attacks on Gaza kill at least 19
At least 19 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in Israeli attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza's Civil Defense.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told Xinhua that 10 people, including children and women, were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the home of the Hassouna family in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.
WTO says global merchandise trade down 0.2 pct for 2025
The volume of global merchandise trade is expected to decline by 0.2 percent in 2025 under current tariff conditions, nearly 3 percentage points lower than the previous forecast based on a "low tariff" scenario, the World Trade Organization (WTO) said in its latest Global Trade Outlook and Statistics report released on Wednesday.
The WTO further warned of severe downside risks posed by the reinstatement of the U.S. "reciprocal tariffs" and spillover of trade policy uncertainty, which could lead to an even sharper decline of 1.5 percent in global goods trade in 2025.
Iran FM reaffirms non-negotiable principle on uranium enrichment
Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday that "the principle" of his country's uranium enrichment is non-negotiable, according to the official news agency IRNA.
He made the remarks in an address to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting while commenting on certain "contradictory" positions adopted by U.S. officials on Iran's nuclear program and uranium enrichment following the first round of the indirect talks between Tehran and Washington in Oman last week.
Serbia's new 31-member cabinet approved by parliament
The National Assembly of Serbia on Wednesday elected a new government led by endocrinologist Djuro Macut.
A total of 153 members of parliament voted in favor, 46 opposed, while 51 lawmakers were absent from the session. The new cabinet will comprise 31 members.
