TASHKENT, 9th April, 2025 (WAM) -- The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, during its 150th session held in Uzbekistan, elected the United Arab Emirates as a member of the Working Group on Science and Technology.
Ahmed Mir Hashim Khoory, Member of the Federal National Council (FNC), was elected to represent the Arab Group.
His election reflects the international parliamentary community's confidence in the UAE Parliamentary Division's expertise and its ability to actively contribute to shaping science and technology policies. It also highlights the UAE's pioneering efforts in adopting advanced technologies and digital innovation to support sustainable development in line with global best practices.
Established in 2021, the IPU Working Group on Science and Technology aims to strengthen collaboration between the scientific community and parliamentarians, ensuring the ethical and sustainable application of scientific and technological advancements.
