PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan -- At least two mine workers were killed as a coal mine collapsed in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province on Monday, Mawlawi Abdullah Hamid, head of Baghlan's coal mine enterprise, said Tuesday.
"Parts of a coal mine caved in, killing two workers late on Monday in Shirin Dara village of Nahrin district of the province," Hamid told reporters. (Afghanistan-Mine-Collapse)

BAGHDAD -- Four people were killed and 43 wounded on Tuesday as a gas tank exploded in a residential area in Duhok Province in Iraq's semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan.
The blast occurred after a leak from a liquefied petroleum gas tank used for heating on the top of a three-storey student dormitory building in the namesake provincial capital Duhok, Fakhri Ahmed, Duhok's police director, told a press conference. (Iraq-Explosion)

RABAT -- A bus overturned on a highway near the northern Moroccan city of Taza on Tuesday, killing 11 and injuring 43 others, local authorities said in a statement.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Taza and an investigation has been opened into the accident, according to the statement. (Morocco-Accident-Casualties)

NEW DELHI -- At least six people were killed in police firing near the border dividing India's two northeastern states of Assam and Meghalaya, confirmed Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills district, when Assam Police personnel and Assam Forest Guards opened indiscriminate firing on a crowd. (India-Police-Firing)
