FRANKFURT, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 41.59 points, or 0.36 percent, to close at 11,556.48 points.
Pharmaceutical company Merck lost 4.04 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and multinational software corporation SAP which lost 2.32 percent and 1.90 percent respectively.
Energy group RWE gained 1.27 percent, becoming the top gainer. Automotive supplier Continental and energy group E.ON advanced 1.22 percent and 1.20 percent respectively.
SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 622.92 million euros (728.70 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 1.95 percent to close at 0.831 euros per share on Friday.
