The United States Men's National Team will take a Major League Soccer-heavy team into next Saturday's friendly against Costa Rica at Carson, Calif., and in the home stadium of the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Gyasi Zardes, a native of Southern California and a former member of the Galaxy, will lead a contingent of five forwards as the Columbus Crew striker will team up front with Paul Arriola (D.C. United), Jesus Ferreria (FC Dallas), Jonathan Lewis (Colorado Rapids) and Ulysses Llanez (Wolfsburg/Germany).
The Galaxy's Sebastian Lletget will lead a group of midfielders that also will include Brenden Aaronson (Philadelphia Union) Christian Cappis (Hobro/Denmark), Bryang Kayo (unattached), Brandon Servania (FC Dallas) and Jackson Yueill (San Jose Earthquakes).
The defenders will be comprised of Julian Araujo (Galaxy), Reggie Cannon (FC Dallas), Chase Gasper (Minnesota United FC), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union), Sam Vines (Rapids) and Walker Zimmerman (Los Angeles FC).
Sean Johnson (New York City FC), Bill Hamid (D.C. United) and Matt Turner (New England Revolution are the goalkeepers.
Of the group, Zardes has the most international experience, playing in 55 games with the USMNT scoring 12 goals. Arriola has 32 games and five goals.
The Seattle Sounders' Jordan Morris was in camp with the team, but he will return to his club team in preparation for the upcoming MLS season.
The USMNT has been in camp together in Bradenton, Fla., after its original plan to have camp in Doha, Qatar, was nixed because of political tension in the region.
