Darius Perry scored a career-high 19 points as No. 6 Louisville rolled past Clemson 80-62 Saturday in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Louisville's KFC Yum! Center.
The Cardinals' sixth consecutive victory pushed Louisville to 17-3 overall and 8-1 in the ACC. Clemson lost for the second time in six games and fell to 10-9, 4-5.
Perry, a junior guard who entered the game averaging 5.4 points per game, made 7 of 12 shots from the floor, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
Perry led three teammates in double figures as Louisville had four double-digit scorers for a second consecutive game. Freshman guard Samuell Williamson came off the bench to score 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting while senior center Steven Enoch added 11 points and junior forward Jordan Nwora had 10.
Louisville never trailed, jumping out to an 8-1 lead, then using a 20-0 run sparked by Nwora and Williamson to pull ahead 31-9 with 8:21 left in the first half. Nwora and Williamson each scored four points during the spurt, which saw the Cardinals make 9 of 12 shots from the floor while Clemson went more than six minutes without a field goal.
Louisville led by 21 at the half, 47-26, after a dominant opening 20 minutes that included the Cardinals shooting 65.5 percent from the floor, 71.4 percent from 3-point range, and outrebounding Clemson 21-10.
Louisville's lead swelled to 26 points early in the second half and the Tigers never drew closer than 13 points down the stretch.
Junior guard Clyde Trapp was the lone double-figure scorer for Clemson with 11 points. Three freshmen -- guards Al-Amir Dawes, Alex Hemenway and Chase Hunter -- each scored eight points, but leading scorer Aamir Simms was held to just four points.
Clemson shot only 34.4 percent from the floor while Louisville was at 48.1 percent and connected on 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from 3-point range. The Cardinals also held a 41-29 rebounding advantage.
